Donald Trump may be the long-odds candidate to become these next President of the United States but his Trump International Hotel & Tower in Las Vegas is a definite winner. Never one to shy away from making a statement, Trump’s 64-storey tower gleams like a vertical gold bar (what else!) at one end of Vegas’s world-famous Strip while inside, the lobby is adorned with crystal columns, palatial chandeliers and metres of marble. This is minimalism Trump-style!
Be an Apprentice Celebrity
Ever fancied your own pad in Vegas? Then you’ve come to the right place. Originally developed as condos, the hotel’s 1,282 residences and suites range from studios to 3-bed penthouses and come with more creature comforts than you’ll find in most homes. Think European-style kitchens, movie-star marble bathrooms with spa tubs and in-mirror plasma TVs while the bed is dressed in 500-thread count Italian Bellino sheets. Bellissimo for a good night’s sleep! Impeccably furnished in elegantly rich fabrics, living, dining and bedrooms drip with old-school glamour thanks to daughter Ivanka’s interior decorating touch.
Popping on big sunglasses, it’s fun to celebrity spot while breakfasting on cranberry juice and an egg-white omelette in the sun-splashed lobby as a posse of perfectly tanned bikini-clad bodies head for the light-filled H2(Eau) bistro on the sparkling pool deck where they’ll push lettuce leaves around a luncheon plate. As night falls, the high rollers head for one of the private rooms in the hotel’s signature restaurant DJT, named after ‘The Donald’, to refuel on the mod-American menu before hitting the tables.
A Spa Turn
I’ve been fascinated by Donald’s plumped-up complexion and at The Spa at Trump, I think I’ve nailed his secret. The Spa has a formidable range of massage therapies, bathing rituals and specials such as the Vegas Recovery Massage but it’s the Ultimate Kate super-hydrating oxygen facial that grabs my attention. Inspired by celebrity skin health expert Kate Somerville, the oxygen facial is a fascinating blend of high-tech / low-touch that leaves the skin noticeably plumped full of nutrients and me feeling decades younger. Well this is Vegas baby and anything’s possible – just ask The Donald!
